The holidays are upon us, which means it’s time to socialize with friends and family and get into the holiday spirit! This week in the blog, we have put together a holiday makeup tutorial so you can look glamorous for any festive event or celebration this time of year.

Step 1: Picture Perfect Skin

To begin our holiday glam, let’s begin with our Be Picture Perfect Foundation. This 12-Hour Demi-Matte foundation helps to cover any imperfections while concealing uneven texture on the skin. Be Picture Perfect is formulated with gentle, hydrating ingredients such as shea butter and green tea leaf extract to help improve skin’s appearance with each use. Apply the foundation directly onto your foundation brush of choice until you achieve your desired coverage.

Step 2: Set It and Forget It

To set the foundation, apply our Translucent Veil Setting Powder all over the face with a fluffy brush to create a silky-matte, translucent finish on the skin. Translucent Veil is formulated with green tea and vitamin E to help conceal imperfections while minimizing the look of pores to help firm skin and hide any imperfections.

Step 3: Add Some Color

Add dewy color to the cheeks with Face Paint Lip & Cheek Tint. Available in three different shades, Face Paint provides long-lasting color to the cheeks and lips. Formulated with vitamin E and essential oils, this creamy blush helps to soften skin while leaving behind a sheen of color. Apply a small amount onto a brush or your fingers and apply to the apple of the cheeks in a soft circular motion.

Step 4: Onto the Eyes

Now that the base is finished, it’s time to move onto the eyes. Using the Jetsetter Palette for Beauty on the Fly, you can create the ultimate holiday glam with the deep matte and skimmer eyeshadow shades. For an easy-to-follow eye look, follow the guide below:

First, apply shade “Santorini” all over the lid up to the brow bone with a fluffy blending brush.
Next, apply shade “Venice” on the lid up to the crease with the same fluffy blending brush.
Using a smaller blending brush, apply shade “Barcelona” to the outer corner of the eyelid.
With a damp brush or your finger, apply shade “Sonoma” to the eyelid, avoiding the crease.
For the last step of this holiday glam eyeshadow, apply “Monte Carlo” to the inner corner and brow bone for a pop of highlight with a small blending brush or your finger.

Step 5: Define the Line

Add some drama to your eye with an eyeliner, such as our On the Line Waterproof Eye Pencil in shade black. This ultra-pigmented liner glides smoothly on the eye with a creamy feel and ultimate precision. Simply apply the precise line onto the lash line, extending the line outward from the eyelid to create a wing if desired.

Step 6: Lift Those Lashes!

For the final step of the eye look, apply our Top Shelf Volume + Curl Mascara in a zig-zag motion from the base of the lashes to the tip, reapplying until you have your desired lash. This uniquely curved mascara separates and lifts lashes for maximum volume and a bold and defined look.

Step 7: A Dramatic Lip

This couldn’t possibly be a holiday themed makeup tutorial without including a classic red lip! With the season of falling leaves and cool weather upon us, it’s time to shift our makeup from bright Summer hues to warm Fall smoky eyes. Changing your eyeshadow looks with the season is a fun way to get into the spirit of Fall while also staying up to date with beauty trends. For this look, we are going to be highlighting how to incorporate our new On The Line Defining Waterproof Pencil for a smoky, Fall Inspired eye look. Keep reading for our recommendations and simple steps on how to achieve an eye look that is ready for Fall!

Stay Golden

To create a soft, warm, and dimensional look this Fall, grab the Golden Hour Luxe Eye and Cheek Beauty Palette! This palette contains 8 neutral, matte, and shimmer eyeshadow hues, as well as a blush and bronzer. This all-in-one palette will help you create a look that is truly magical! We suggest the following application to create a warm smoky eye look with three eyeshadow shades from the Golden Hour Palette:

First, go in with shade Lure (a soft, light pink) all over the lid and up to the brow bone with a blending brush.
Next, apply and blend shade Eventide (a warm terra cotta burnt orange) onto the lid and crease of the eye. This color will serve as a base for a smoky eye.
Now time for some shimmer! Use shade Twilight (a shimmery mauve) all over the lid, using a flat blending brush to gently pat the shimmer onto the lid.

To help keep our eyeshadow look going, we need to add some smudgy, smoky eyeliner. Our *new* On The Line Defining Waterproof Pencil in shade Chocolate is perfect to add some depth to this look! This waterproof eye pencil shade glides smoothly on the eye with precision without tugging. This dimensional liner is great for smoky eyes as well as day-to-day looks. Available in shades black, chocolate, and platinum, there is a shade for every versatile eye makeup look. To apply On The Line Defining Waterproof Pencil for a Fall inspired smoky eye, complete the following steps:

Draw a precise line on the lash line directly with On The Line Pencil in shade Chocolate (a deep brown) from the inner corner of your lash while working your way over to the outer edge.
Once the liner is on the lid, take a small blending brush and smudge the chocolate shade along the lash line to get a smoky effect.

May the Wings of Your Eyeliner Always Be Even…

Let’s wing it! Rather it be a small gentle wing or a fierce wing that means business, adding a wing can add some glamour to any eyeshadow look. To achieve a wing yourself, we recommend using our Total Precision Liquid Eyeliner in shade Black to get a smooth, sharp line. Use the following steps as a guide on how to give yourself a winged eyeliner look:

Using Total Precision Liquid Liner, draw a thin line directly on the lash line starting on the inner corner of the eye and moving to the outer edge. This line should be as close to the lash line as possible and should not be as thick as the On The Chocolate smudgy eyeshadow shade we previously applied.
Once we have our thin line on the eye, it’s time for the wing! This wing can be as small or as large as you like—depending on how much drama you want in the look. Draw a line from the outer edge of the eye in a diagonal line slightly inclining upwards until your wing is your desired length.

No Reason to Lash Out!

Halloween Inspired Looks: Spooky Makeup

Halloween is quickly approaching, and if you find yourself panicking because you have no idea on what to dress up as, you’ve come to the right place. This week in the blog, we are going to be going through three different makeup tutorials that are inspired by various Halloween inspired looks. If you want to know how to use your makeup as a costume this year, keep on reading!

Feeling Feline

For our first Halloween look, we have this super fun Cheetah-inspired makeup! If you are interested in recreating this Cheetah look, use the following steps as a guide:

Using our Golden Hour Luxe Eye and Cheek Beauty Palette and a small, dense, pointed brush, use the shade “Enchant” and draw four to eight circles/ovals on the right side of the face. Do not color in these circles/ovals. Be sure to have different-looking shapes as these outlines will mimic the spots on a Cheetah.
Next, using the same palette, use the bronzer shade “Afterglow” to color in your various circles and ovals.
To create the nose and mouth, use a Waterproof Mechanical Eye Definer Pencil in shade Black to color in the top of the nose along with the nostrils.
Next, with the same Eye Definer Pencil, draw a line from the bottom of the nose to the top of the lip. Color in the top of the top lip and add dots around the upper lip area between the nose and the top lop to mimic whiskers.
A Cheetah-inspired makeup look would not be complete without a classic cat eye! Use Total Precision Liquid Eyeliner in shade Black to draw an exaggerated wing liner, starting at the inner corner of the eye and brushing out to the outer corner.
For our final step, spray with Set + Shield Environmental Defense Makeup Setting Mist all over the face to help your feline look last all night long!

Re-Vamp Your Look

For our second spooky Halloween look, we have this creepy vampire-inspired makeup look! To learn how to recreate this look, follow the steps below:

First, we are going to start with the smoky eye. Take Eyesilk Eyeshadow in shade Black Onyx and apply all over the lid with a small blending brush. The entire eyelid should be covered in black. Be careful not to apply the black above the crease of the eyelid.
Next, with the shade Coco Couture from the same Eyesilk collection, apply this deep brown hue with a fluffy blending eyeshadow brush throughout the crease to blend out any harsh lines from the black shadow.
Repeat the same steps on the lower lash line, starting with Black Onyx closest to the lower lash line and blending the color out with Coco Couture.
Next, using shade Sangria from the Eyesilk Eyeshadow collection, draw zig-zagged lines coming from the bottom of the lower lash line with a very small, angled eyeshadow brush. Blend out the zig zags so they are not super vibrant, as seen in the photo above.
For the lips, we are going to apply a Lip Color in shade Red Carpet on the lips. Once lips are coated, draw two vertical lines down from both corners of the lips. Try to draw the lines a little curved to mimic the way blood would naturally drop.
For our final step, spray with Set + Shield Environmental Defense Makeup Setting Mist all over the face to help your Halloween look not “vam-ish” throughout the night!

Super Cute Scarecrow

For our final Halloween-inspired makeup look, we have this rosy and vibrant scarecrow! If you are interested in copying this makeup for Halloween, follow the steps below.

Starting with the eyes, go in with Eyesilk Eyeshadow in shade Rose all over the eyelid with a small blending brush. Make sure this eyeshadow color does not go above the crease of the eye!
Next, use Eyesilk in shade Fame to blend out Rose from step 1. Blend this color all over the crease upwards towards the brow bone.
For the face, use Face Paint Lip & Cheek Tint in shade Tuscan on the apples of the cheek and on the tip of the nose. Try not to blend out this color too much, we want the color to be bright and vibrant.
Next, using Total Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Black, draw a sharp and thick cat-eye eyeliner starting from the inner corner and flicking out to the edge of the eye.
With the same eyeliner, outline a triangle on the nose and two lines curving upwards, one on each side of the mouth.
Using Eyesilk in shade Black Onyx, carefully apply this color onto lips in a patting motion.
Going back to your lines from step 4, apply small lines with the same eyeliner around the exterior of the outline of the nose and small “X”’s on the curved lines around and on the mouth, as seen in the photo above.
For our final step, spray with Set + Shield Environmental Defense Makeup Setting Mist all over the face to help keep your scarecrow look set all night long!

October is National Emotional Wellness Month! To celebrate, this week in the blog we are going to take a pause on our favorite makeup looks and focus on how to help take care of yourself. Emotional Wellness teaches us how to adapt to life’s stresses and how to adapt to change and difficult times. Learning strategies on how to take care of your emotional wellness can only benefit you in the future, which is why this week in the blog we are going through our four favorite tips on how to improve your emotional wellness.

Sweet Dreams!

Something that is easy to overlook and ignore is getting enough sleep per night. According to various sleep studies, it is recommended that adults sleep between seven and nine hours a night. While this may be easier said than done, taking time to take care of yourself and get enough sleep will make you more productive the following day. Not to mention, sleep is good for beauty rest!
