What Is Witch hazel?
Let’s start with the basics. What is witch hazel and what does it do? Witch hazel is derived from a flowering plant called genus hamamelis and is made from the leaves and bark of the plant. “Witch hazel is a natural astringent, so it is often used to help remove excess sebum and temporarily decrease the appearance of pores. It also has antioxidant properties and can be soothing to the skin. Witch hazel can be drying to the skin if overused, so be cautious to not over-apply.”
